Marine Electronics Have a Strange Definition of Obsolete

Sometimes equipment becomes obsolete because it stops working.

Sometimes it becomes obsolete because something significantly better replaces it.

And sometimes perfectly good equipment becomes “obsolete” simply because the newer equipment around it can no longer talk to it.
